Junior InterClub

The Junior Inter Club programme is a competition that enables the club juniors at a ‘young masters’ stage of development to compete in events and activities to encourage them to play, enjoy the game and learn more about their golf. The programme follows the ‘Good Sports’ Kaupapa where players are encouraged to play in a competitive and fun manner. The important outcomes from the programme and that junior players get to:

  • Have funalt text
  • Learn some skills
  • Play with friends and like-minded players

Good Sports® | Aktive – Auckland Sport & Recreation - Aktive

For this reason, there is no trophy or winners announced at the end of the competition.

COACHING

The programme also offers coaching for all players undertaken through their club. Club coaches will coach each team leading into each round and the finals (funded by Auckland Golf). This will be a team coaching session aimed at course strategy, match play, course care and Stableford scoring.

 

 

 


 

Junior Girls Tour

In 2024 Auckland Golf’s catch phrase is the ‘Growth of Golf’. A new initiative for 2024 is  the Junior Girls tour. The objective of the tour is to develop a community of young female golfers. It aligns with the AGI Womens Ambition to grow the game and meets the needs of junior players who want to:

    1. Play on different coursesalt text
    2. Meet like-minded golfers
    3. Have fun

*Based upon AGI survey of players at recent age-group tournaments and Good Sports programme

Each month, participants will play one round on a different designated golf course in Auckland.

  1. A club will offer spaces available to those on the tour during a designated month.
  2. The round will be offered at a reduced green fee
  3. Players will play the round and record their stableford score on CoachMate.
  1. The squad will also have the opportunity to compete in junior open tournaments held by clubs.
  2. AGI will provide a grant to clubs to be a part of the programme

 

The participants will be:

  1. A maximum of 20 players for Year One (2024)
  2. Players must hold a handicap with an AGI golf club
  3. Must be a junior female
  4. Handicap’s above 10
  5. Aged 10+ yrs old

 

Junior Representative Fund

AGI is excited to announce the release of the Representative Grant. This a new initiative to support Auckland representatives that are looking for support for their to further their development as a professional golfer or work towards becoming a professional golfer.

There is an annual fund of $10,000 available with a limit of $1,000 per person per year.
